Who We Are
Dockside Flippers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Port O'Connor, Texas, dedicated to observing, documenting, and sharing the lives of bottlenose dolphins that inhabit the waters of the Texas Gulf Coast. Through videography, research, education, and storytelling, we provide a unique window into the daily lives, behaviors, relationships, and personalities of these remarkable animals.
Our mission is to inspire curiosity, appreciation, and a deeper connection to the natural world by bringing people closer to the dolphins of Port O'Connor. Through engaging social media content, educational outreach, and ongoing observation, we share meaningful moments and discoveries that help people better understand and appreciate bottlenose dolphins. We believe that every dolphin has a story worth telling, and by sharing those stories, we create opportunities for learning, wonder, and connection.
At Dockside Flippers, we are passionate about fostering a community of dolphin enthusiasts who value education, exploration, and respect for marine life. By connecting people with the dolphins that live in our coastal waters, we hope to inspire a lasting appreciation for the beauty, intelligence, and social nature of these extraordinary animals and the
waters they call home.

Our Work
At Dockside Flippers, our work begins on the waterfront in Port O'Connor, Texas, where founder Meghan Bergaila regularly observes and films the local bottlenose dolphins that frequent the harbor and surrounding waters. Through ongoing observation, we document dolphin behaviors, social interactions, family relationships, feeding habits, travel patterns, and the unique personalities that make each dolphin special.
By observing the dolphins throughout the year, we are able to recognize individual animals, follow their stories, and share meaningful moments from their daily lives. Each encounter adds to our growing understanding of the dolphin community that calls Port O'Connor home. Over time, these observations reveal patterns, relationships, and behaviors that might otherwise go unnoticed.
The videos captured during these observations are thoughtfully edited and often synchronized with music to create an engaging and memorable experience for viewers. Music has a unique ability to connect people and evoke emotion, allowing audiences to experience the beauty, grace, and personality of the dolphins in a way that feels both entertaining and meaningful.
Through social media, educational outreach, and storytelling, Dockside Flippers shares these moments with a growing community of dolphin enthusiasts around the world. Our goal is to bring people closer to the dolphins of the Texas Gulf Coast, inspire curiosity and appreciation, and create lasting connections between people, music, and the
remarkable dolphins that inhabit the waters of Port O'Connor, Texas.
